Minister of Children's Page

July 2008 Report

Greetings,
As many of you may have noticed, an effort is being made to increase the ability for our children to participate side by side with us at meetings. A&S and dance nights were both great successes in this area. During A&S they practiced painting with watercolor and some scribal printouts. During dance, well, they danced (or at least some of them did). We are currently looking for activities that might interest the younger children during a weaving class. If you have suggestions, please, let Charles or myself know.

Also, an important notice, is that we will be trying to encourage children to participate more in populace. the way I see it happening (at least as a trial this month) is that the children will stay with their parents through the start of the meeting. We will likely have the seneschals words, a few reports that may interest children (such as A&S, guilds and archery), and then the Minister of Children's report during which time I will offer the children a chance to mention anything special they have done during the month. Aftger the MoC report the children will be dismissed and they will be notified when we are nearing the end of the meeting so that they may rejoin parents for the vivat. This will give them a way to participate with us during populace, without straining their attention spans as we workout event details or hear financial reports. If you have any questions, please see me.

Thank you,
Lady Liliana Byrnes, Mooneschadowe MoC
